Kuwait security sources revealed that the Ministry of the Interior stopped completing the procedures for deporting 340 Filipino and Indian nationals caught for violations from the deportation centre after the two countries refused to receive the deportees and insisted on a health certificate for each person proving that they were free of the new Coronavirus.

The ministry was in the process of completing all legal procedures to proceed with the deportation of Indian and Philippine nationals but had to stop when the embassies insisted on the certificate prior to their travel.

The sources told Al-Rai newspaper that three flights were supposed to transport the violators, two of them to India and the third to the Philippine capital, Manila, but the flights were canceled.

Continued coordination is taking place between the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs with the embassies of the two countries, with a view to finding quick solution.
