Sources in the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy have disclosed that the Ministry is actively engaging with all government agencies to establish electronic connections.

The primary objective is to facilitate the settlement of outstanding debts while expediting transactions for citizens and residents, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Ministry is currently in the process of coordinating with the Ministry of Public Works to establish electronic linkage between their systems. It is anticipated that this collaboration will be finalized in the coming days.

The sources indicated that the initial focus of debt collection will be on citizens seeking to avail themselves of the quadruple water service for their farms, establishments, or vouchers.

The delivery of the service will be contingent on the individual completing the transaction providing confirmation of debt clearance from the Ministry of Electricity. Minister Jassim Al-Ostad is particularly keen on addressing any delays in debt collection from consumers.

Highlighting the Ministry’s accomplishments, the sources mentioned that approximately 300 million dinars have been collected since the beginning of the current fiscal year.

They anticipate a significant increase in collections by the end of March, reaching 700 million dinars. The successful electronic integration with the Ministry of Interior, initiated in September, is credited for the substantial improvement in debt collection.

In October alone, the Ministry achieved a milestone by collecting 3.5 million dinars from expatriates through land and air exit points. The total collected from expatriates since the activation of the automatic link with the Ministry of Interior has reached 8.4 million dinars.

The Ministry remains committed to the collection of its debts, considering it public funds that must be diligently recovered.
