Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Workers Union in the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Duaij Khalifa Al-Azmi said during a meeting with the Chairman of the Union of Trade Unions in the government sector, Hussein Al-Sabil, and the President of the Civil Service Commission, Dr Essam Al-Rubaian, disucussed the issue of allowances and demands of the trade unions that were presented to the CSC, most notably the issue of the flexible fingerprint attendance.

Al-Azmi said, “We touched on several demands during the meeting, and the issue of discrimination between employees of electric power stations and water distillation stations regarding the pollution allowance that is paid to some and not to others who work alongside them at the same site, and we demanded that it be paid to everyone without discrimination as long as the work environment is the same,” reports a local Arabic daily.

He stated that the demands will be studied in preparation for presenting them to the CSC, especially those demands related to the employees of the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

On the issue of fingerprint attendance, Al-Azmi explained “during the meeting Al-Rubaian was requested to merge the exit permits with hours of delay after specifying the grace period, in order to facilitate the employees.”
