The National Assembly of Kuwait rejected Thursday a no-confidence motion against Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Saud AlHarbi, with 29 members supporting him. Al-Harbi was opposed by 15 members while three abstained. The signatories of the motion were MPs Abdulwahab Al-Babtain, Dr. Bader Al-Mulla, Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Kandari, Yousef Al-Fadhala, Dr. Odah Al-Rowaie, Al-humaidi Al-Subaie, Dr. Khalil Abul, Omar Al-Tabtabae, Farraj Al-Arbeed, and Naser Al Dosari. Al-Harbi said obtaining the confidence “increased responsibility entrusted upon him,” as he asks the Almighty to provide him with the strength to further improve the education sector.

The Minister expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to each MP for granting him the confidence to continue working, expressing at the same time his appreciation to everyone who disagreed with him.
