The National Assembly approved Tuesday postponement motion requested by the Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to defer interpellation submitted against him.

The National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim asked the PM whether he would like go forth with the grilling motion or postpone it to a later date, to which the Prime Minister replied saying that he would like to defer discussing the interpellation according to article 100 of the Kuwaiti constitution and article 135 of the parliament bylaws.

Article 100 of the Kuwaiti Constitution allows the parliament members to file an interrogation request against the prime minister and the cabinet members about affairs related to their duties and responsibilities.

Whereas article 135 of the assembly’s bylaws stipulates that the discussion of grilling motion takes place at least eight days after submitting the motion, and the designated minister can request postponing the discussion to a maximum of two weeks. – Kuna
