The Public Authority for Manpower has introduced a training initiative targeting students seeking employment in the private sector during the spring and summer of 2023.

Guided and supported by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid, the project facilitated training for 654 students across 55 entities, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This initiative aligns with the state’s dedication to nurturing professionally-prepared and trained youth, ultimately enabling them to contribute meaningfully, enhance the nation’s welfare, shift perceptions, and steer Kuwaiti youth toward private sector employment.

The authority’s statement underscored that the student training program serves the purpose of engaging a segment of school-going youth during their vacation time.

By involving them in practical training programs, the project aims to cultivate an awareness of the importance of private sector employment and its positive influence on personal and career growth. The private sector’s role in channeling free time away from negative pursuits, honing skills, bolstering self-confidence, and facilitating entry into the workforce is emphasized.

The project also strives to instill a sense of enthusiasm for work and a spirit of embracing challenges, by expanding work horizons and furnishing technical and practical readiness aligned with diverse labor market demands.

During the spring and summer of 2023, a substantial number of students participated in training, in collaboration with various sectors including banking, insurance, retail, legal, and oil industries, along with factories, cooperative societies, and other sectors.

These students receive commendable incentives for their summer employment.

The authority expressed gratitude and admiration for all parties contributing to the project, acknowledging their unwavering efforts in supporting the Public Authority for Manpower’s annual endeavor since 2005.

On a separate note, the Public Authority for Manpower has recently launched two new services accessible via the unified government electronic services application “Sahel.” These services, titled “Start of Study” and “Qualification Equivalence” certificates, are directed towards the Ministry of Higher Education.
