The Public Authority for Manpower Board of Directors has decided to postpone the amendment of the percentages of national labor in the private sector, which was to be increased according to directions to support national labor in the sector and in coordination with the Civil Service Council.

Informed sources told a local Arabic daily “according to the postponed plan, there was no unified total percentage to increase the percentage of Kuwaitis in the private sector, but the increase was uneven from one sector to another, and that the rate was estimated according to the need to increase the percentages of concentration of national labor in each sector.”

The daily indicated that “the decision to postpone came with the aim of making room for further study in setting the appropriate ratios and perceptions for the stage and the labor market data and its available outputs,” noting that “the government’s resignation was an additional factor in the trend to postpone the step and conduct further study in it.”

The sources pointed out that the “manpower” seeks to enhance the presence of Kuwaiti youth in the private sector in its various institutions, within the framework of promoting targeted human development, pointing out that some major economic sectors, especially banks, are considered to meet the Kuwaitization rates with more Kuwaiti employees than required.
