The Director-General of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Ahmed Al-Mousa, stated the Ministry of Interior has approved a mechanism related to converting commercial visit visas to work visa in accordance with the provisions of Article (18), to make this mechanism compatible with the decisions issued by the authority regarding the transfer of laborers from one employer to another.

This is response to the needs of the labor market in light of the repercussions associated with the Corona virus pandemic to give more flexibility to the movement of laborers during the pandemic period in implementation of the directives of the Council of Ministers, and in light of coordination between PAM, the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergencies and the Ministry.

The Al-Jarida daily quoting Al-Mousa indicated during a meeting with some representatives of the Kuwaiti Federation of Owners of Private Schools and Cultural Institutes, the issue to convert commercial visas to work visas for teachers was also discussed especially in light of the ongoing preparations for the start of the new scholastic year.

Al-Mousa stated the authority’s efforts are devoted to facilitating all activities within the private sector for the smooth running of the medical, educational, economic and other activities in light of the prevailing conditions in the country.
