Commenting on what was circulated in some social media and news sites, regarding linking salmonella outbreaks in many European countries and the United Kingdom to ‘Kinder’ chocolate products, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition clarified that all food products, including the product mentioned in the European warning, are subject to laboratory tests to ensure its suitability for human consumption and its conformity with the approved standard specifications.

The authority added in a statement that it had immediately communicated through the emergency contact point for the State of Kuwait at the International Network of Food Safety Officials INFOSAN, which is currently conducting an investigation into the incident to provide us with the latest information and developments, following which the sale of this product will be approved.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition called on everyone to check on the accuracy before publishing news and information, and to always obtain it from official sources.
