Public Authority of Civil Information (PACI) clarified through a press release that the authority does not plan to cancel the civil IDs issued to the expats.
Several media houses published news about the move to cancel the civil ID card for expatriates and restricting its issuance to citizens only.
The authority stated in a press release on Sunday that civil cards are issued to Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis in accordance with Article 14 of Law No. 32 of 1982 regarding the Civil Information System, which stipulated that the authority issues a card for every person registered in the civil information system. Governmental and non-governmental agencies approve this card as proof of the identity of its owner.
