Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Minister of Education and Minister Higher Educational Dr. Hamed Al-Azmi with the honorees.

The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET)’s Director General Dr. Ali AlMudhaf affirmed Monday that PAAET’s graduates are qualified to reform the workforce structure in Kuwait and make a new wave of talented workers.

Al-Mudhaf made his remarks in a speech at an honoring ceremony held for PAAET graduates under the auspices and attendance of His Highness Sheikh Nasser AlMohammad AlAhmad AlSabah, and Minister of Education and Minister Higher Educational Dr. Hamed AlAzmi.

The honorees gained their education and work experience between PAAET laboratories and practical training at the Kuwaiti labor market, he noted, affirming their competency to provide efforts and decisions based on self education and self conscious. They are also able to transfer their technical experience, knowledge, and national affiliation through multiple generations simultaneously, he said.

Al-Mudhaf expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad for his continued encouragement and special sponsorship of the applied education sector, adding Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad strongly believes in applied training’s significance in achieving the ‘Kuwaiti Dream’.

For his part, Deputy Director General of PAAET for Training Affairs Tareq Al-Ameeri stressed the importance of the applied training sector in the development process in Kuwait, particularly in providing efficient manpower to economic sectors, as well as an elite of specialized technicians and their assistants to various fields and occupations the country needs.

PAAET has succeeded in achieving several major projects through its students, AlAmeeri noted, adding the number of applicants to study in the Authority continues to be on the rise. This poses a major challenge for PAAET to accommodate such a large number of male/female applicants, especially since the number of enrolled students reached nearly 9,000 in the learning year 2018/19, he added.

Meanwhile, AlAmeeri noted that PAAET has implemented 30 joint programs with most state ministries, institutions, and authorities, in addition to partnerships with oil and private sectors through organizing 60 workshops in cooperation with beneficiary bodies and implementing bureaus.

Around 170 training courses were held at Ibn AlHaytham training center during the academic year 2018/19, with some 3,700 trainees from 40 bodies, including ministries, state and civil institutions, he added.

All directorates and institutions at the applied training sector received this year certificates of quality assurance (ISO 9001:2015) in addition to academic, programmatic, and institutional accreditation from Paris Academy, said Al-Ameeri.
