The Ministry of Education (MoE) is ready to start training more than 70,000 Kuwaiti and expatriate teachers on e-learning tools and online education as part of its preparations for the new academic year which will start in October, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

To avoid the problems encountered earlier in the implementation of the system, the ministry is currently preparing a training plan for teachers to ensure the smooth introduction of the online education system. The Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi issued a directive for the instructors to present a comprehensive vision about the required training plan for teachers as soon as possible, and to focus on the short term for members of the teaching staff in the secondary and other academic levels — kindergarten, primary and intermediate.

The ministry’s keenness to incorporate e-learning into the education institution to achieve the desired goals of fostering learning among students to create a generation capable of self-learning while the coronavirus is a global threat.
