The Residence Affairs Departments in Kuwait has started issuing dependent entry visas in addition to visit and commercial visas to certain foreigners with what the department called medical and educational specialties, based on the instructions of the Council of Ministers, Al Qabas reported.

A security source said that over the past two days the departments received a small number of visitors who meet the conditions for entry visas to help them join their families or otherwise.

Those who meet the conditions in the government sector are divided into three categories – those working in Health and Defense ministries, National Guard, National Petroleum Corporation; female doctors and nurses to bring their children under the age of 16 upon visa to join the family (dependent residence); allowing the doctor or nurse to bring her husband on a visit visa after signing an undertaking not to convert this visa into a residence permit; allowing female medical staff (other than the doctor and nurse) to bring their husbands and sons on visit visa only; allowing medical staff to transfer from a visit to family visa family, according to the applicable terms and conditions, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In the private sector, doctors and nurses working in the private hospital will be allowed to bring their children under the age of 16 so that they can join the family in line with applicable conditions, in case the resident father can sponsor them, they will be granted a visit visa and then transferred to the father’s sponsorship if he meets the conditions.

In the private education sector heads of families working in this sector who meet the conditions will be allowed to bring their wives and children (under 16) on a family visa.

In the event the applicant in the education sector who wants to bring his wife and children, he is granted a commercial entry visa on the sponsorship of the educational establishment that issued his work permit which later can be converted into the family visa.

Female teachers working in the private sector will be allowed to bring their husbands on tourist visit visa after signing an undertaking not to transfer the touring visa into work visa.

The department said, a director, assistant director, teacher, and specialist in the private sector will be allowed to bring their children under the age of 16 on a visit visa to join a family, provided they meet the conditions.
