The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) revealed that the total online shopping appointments yesterday was recorded at 61534 appointments through the online booking appointment system for coops, markets and catering branches, and 22,918 people attended to the supermarkets, reported Al Rai daily.

The Ministry said in a statement that coops recorded 30,3030 appointments, with an attendance of 14470, or 48 percent, and the total for parallel markets reached 26527 appointments, with an attendance of 6986, or 26 percent. The appointments for catering branches amounted to 4123, with an attendance of 1360, accounting for 33 percent, while the imposition of Al-Shabra was recorded at 554 appointments, with an attendance of 103 percent, representing 22 percent.

The ministry received 230 complaints via the 135 hotline yesterday, and searched 99 coops and a parallel market to determine the extent of its commitment to health regulations, in addition to inspecting 80 catering branches to monitor the progress of work.  The ministry also indicated that it screened inspectors to monitor coops and parallel markets on an ongoing basis, and conducted tours to monitor the prices of a number of coop and central markets, as well as to supervise the organization and distribution of shares of vegetables and fruits in many markets.
