Residency permits of expatriates working in the private sector (Article 18 visas) will be renewed online starting from Sunday, 01 March, 2020.

Announcing this, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Residence Affairs Major General Talal Marafi said that this new service comes following the success of renewing residency permits for domestic helpers (Article 20 visas) that was launched earlier. He added that the next step would be the renewal of residency permits for those employed in the public sector (Article 17 visas).

Maj.Gen. Marafie praised the efforts made by the Public Authority for Manpower, the Ministry of Health, the Public Authority for Civil Information and the Information and Communications Technology Sector at the Ministry of Interior, in making the a success. He stressed that the cooperation between the security establishment and all state entities would continue in order to complete the digitization of services offered by residency affairs.

He added that a seminar will be conducted in the General Administration of Residency Affairs starting on Sunday 23/2/2020 to receive queries from companies and commercial establishments, and to explain how to renew Article 18 residences online. Maj.Gen. Marafie explained that representatives of companies (mandoups) who hold legal status, or who have official status, must bring the application form from the company or commercial establishment and its email, or the email authorized to use the operating system to the Ministry of Interior.

Revealing that there are plans to link the General Administration of Residency Affairs with all ministries and government agencies, Maj.Gen. Marafie called on citizens and residents to take advantage of the website of the Ministry of Interior www.moi.gov.kw provided by the General Administration of Residency Affairs and all security sectors to save time and effort which will help to complete the procedures with speed.
