The Cabinet gave the green light for the return of expatriates stranded outside the country, as they are from 34 countries on the ban list. First is the facilitating domestic workers’ travel under automatic procedures that take into account health requirements, and includes mandatory two-week quarantine, Al Rai reported.

The initial part of the plan starts with the technical part of travel procedures with the sponsor updating on the online platform the details of the domestic worker’s return and finishing the exit procedures in the terminal building at Kuwait International Airport.

The second part deals with the technical and financial matters of quarantine and services included for the domestic worker leaving the airport and being transferred to the quarantine housing. This encompasses all the logistical services of transportation, foods, maintaining the cleanliness of the housing and the required PCR tests and examinations according to the requirements of the Ministry of Health.

In its meeting led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, the Council reviewed the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee for Coronavirus Emergencies regarding the proposed plan for the return of domestic workers, which included the stages and travel from countries on the 34 ban list, and decided to assign the concerned authorities to complete the legalities and procedures. The details necessary will be done swiftly to implement the plan at the earliest.
