After the grace period given to visitors to leave the country ended earlier this week, Authorities have decided to extend visit visas by one month, an Arabic daily reported.

Well-informed sources told the daily that directives have been issued on humanitarian grounds due to repercussions of the global coronavirus pandemic including travel restrictions, rises in airfares, and infections that may have hit some visitors.

Around 5,000 foreigners are estimated to have not left Kuwait despite the expiry of their visit visas, the sources said.
