The head of the Municipal Council, Abdullah Al-Mahri, suggested amending the administrative decision on the payment of licenses issued for rentals of sidewalks and public squares, an Arab daily reported. The proposal intended to authorize the competent municipality official to issue licenses and allow the licensee to pay annually.
Al-Mahri indicated the practicality of the procedure especially for municipal licenses processed with a one-time payment for a period of four years, which was a burden on both license-issuers and licensees. He pointed out that the proposal would alleviate the process, as well as, facilitate the issuance of licenses with zero hindrances and restrictions.
