Representative Muhammad Hayef stressed that wearing “obscene clothing” in public places and markets contradicts the Sharia law and the constitution, an Arab daily reported. The official stated that it is “one of the negative phenomena in Western cultures that are alien to Kuwait’s conservative society”.

Hayef called for the implementation of the law, Article 49 of the Constitution, which stipulates “observing public order and respecting public morals is a duty for all residents of Kuwait”.
