Spokesman for the Ministry of Information, Anwar Murad, said that what is being circulated on social media platforms about preventing electronic newspapers from covering the registering of candidates for the 2022 National Assembly elections is untrue.

A local Arabic daily quoting Murad said in a press statement that the ministry commends the role of media professionals in covering this important event and calls on them to adhere to impartiality and professionalism in media coverage.

She added that the Ministry harnesses all its capabilities to ensure the organization of work in the media center and to provide everything that would facilitate the task of media professionals to highlight this event in the required manner, noting the role of the Ministry of Interior men in organizing and facilitating the entry and exit process for candidates.

She stressed that the measures taken by the Ministry of Information are organizational and contribute directly to facilitating the task of media professionals by covering the registration of male and female candidates for the upcoming elections.

Murad said that the ministry has started issuing special identities for all media outlets licensed to enter the media center in the Elections Affairs Department to organize the entry process and ensure the success of media coverage in a manner befitting the democracy of the State of Kuwait.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Information commended the cooperation of all media outlets and their praise of the organization in the media center, wishing all success.
