Official sources in the Ministry of Awqaf revealed that Tarawih and Qiyam prayers will not be held this year in the main prayer hall of the Grand Mosque of the State.
The sources told a local Arabic daily that the prayer hall is undergoing maintenance and renovation works that are currently underway, noting that prayers will be held in the everyday ‘small’ prayer hall only.
The sources added the ministry will allow setting up tents outside the mosques in coordination with the Municipality. However, these tents will not be used as prayer halls but for the benefit of those who want to break their fast.
