The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for Foreign Relations and Information, Mohammad Nasser Al-Mutairi, said the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced a number of instructions accompanying the implementation of the decision to lift the precautionary measures in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Al-Mutairi pointed out that the most important instructions include canceling prayer permits in the Grand Mosque and permits to visit the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his two companions, may God be pleased with them, reports a local Arabic daily.

The Saudi ministry will continue issuing permits to perform Umrah and visit to the Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah. It is a spot located between the house of the Prophet (PBUH), i.e. the house of Aisha, God Bless her, and the Holy Rostrum) where the prophet used to talk from.

Al-Mutairi continued saying social distancing measures in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque is no longer applicable, however it is obligatory to wear face masks there while the requirement to produce negative PCR test or an approved examination for Corona virus antigens are cancelled.

Al-Mutairi pointed out that the verification of the immunization status for entry to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque for all guests and the requirement to register immunization data to obtain a Umrah permit in the event of coming from outside the Kingdom have been canceled, meaning that vaccination is not required to perform Umrah.

The requirement of institutional quarantine and home quarantine for pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom has also been abolished.

Al-Mutairi said that these procedures and instructions are subject to continuous evaluation by the competent health authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to the developments of the epidemiological situation which requires all pilgrims from the State of Kuwait to observe and abide by all its provisions
