The government has banned screening of films at all cinemas, theaters, and banned the organizing of wedding parties and hotel events until further notice, revealed the government spokesman Tareq Al Mizrem.

This follows the extension of school holidays for all private private colleges, military colleges, endowment centers and Islamic affairs until March 26. These measures comes at a time when the number of coronavirus infection cases has risen to 65 with three in critical condition.

In a similar move,  Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission (CSC) directed on Sunday all government agencies to bar employees placed under any form of quarantine to start work. CSC said in a statement posted on the social media account “twitter” that the ban is applicable to Kuwaiti and expat employees, noting that the decision is in compliance with the mandatory quarantine declared by the Health Ministry.
