A group of expats who gathered to play football in Hawally area yesterday during the two-hour break of the curfew period, from 4.30 to 6.30 pm, were warned by the security authorities, the daily reported.

The daily added that the Interior Ministry authorities during their regular patrols in the area came upon many expats gathered in one of the stadiums for a game of football. The players were arrested and the football was confiscated from them.

The Ministry of Interior stressed that the gathering is breaking the law which invites punishment of imprisonment or deportation, hence all residents are advised to avoid such activities and maintain safe distancing protocols while walking or doing exercise.
