The Direct Investment Promotion Authority confirmed it has not concluded any agreements or memoranda of cooperation with the Republic of Iraq on the issue of the economic zones.
In his response to a query submitted MP Abdulaziz Al-Saqabi, of which a copy has been obtained by a local Arabic daily, he said the DIPA had conducted an economic feasibility study for the Abdali region, but it did not submit any report in this regard of the Abdali Economic Zone either to the Cabinet or its committees.
DIPA explained the study that was prepared has compiled only a vision for Abdali Economic Zone, on an estimated area of approximately 5.02 square kilometers.
