During the past 24 hours, Kuwait recorded the highest number of admissions to intensive care departments in hospitals since the beginning of the pandemic, with 250 cases, which is the total number of cases being treated in the intensive care Arabic daily Al Jarida reported.

Kuwait is witnessing a very high number of deaths with 74 deaths reported from March 18 taking the total death toll from coronavirus to 1279. The Ministry of Health also revealed that 227,178 infections have been recorded during the past one year with 211,360 recoveries amounting to almost 93 per cent recovery

Kuwait is witnessing a surge in the number of infected patients despite strict measures being enforced and a partical curfew introduced to contain the spread of the virus

Around 14,539 cases of coronavirus infected patients are still under treatment with more than two million tests being  conducted during the past year as part of preventive measures to deal with the virus.

The ministry of health has since the past three months vaccinated more than half a million citizens and residents and the pace of vaccination has picked up with the 10th batch of Pfizer vaccines arriving tomorrow.

The Ministry renewed its call on citizens and residents to continue adopting all preventive means, avoid contact with others, and ensure the implementation of the physical distancing strategy, recommending to visit the official accounts of the Ministry of Health and official authorities in the country to view the instructions and recommendations, and everything that would contribute to containing the spread of the virus
