The Ministry of Health (MoH) is planning to initiate new quarantine guidelines for health workers who regularly come in contact with coronavirus patients, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a source from the ministry.

The medical staff including doctors, nurses, technicians and health inspectors will have to abide by the following regulations. The health worker has to undergo a swab test, and though the result is negative, will have to be isolated at their home for seven days starting from the date of the last contact with the coronavirus patient before being allowed to resume work as a precautionary measure. If the result is positive, they are to be isolated for a period of 10 days from the date of the swab test, the source said.

On the other hand, the ministry is currently working on a procedure to determine the employment status of its workers who have been unable to return due to the coronavirus crisis.
