The criminal security sector, represented by the Department of Counterfeiting and Forgery officials, arrested four Africans for misleading victims who were in need of quick profit by obtaining foreign money and selling it in exchange for the local currency at discounted prices of up to half of its value.

The local paper reported that the gang was found in possession of counterfeit coins, along with black papers covered with a waxy substance and other money laundering tools. Legal measures are being taken against the suspects.

According to the report, several complaints were received by the criminal security sector about being deceived after members of the gang confirmed that they possessed foreign currencies that they obtained illegally and they wanted to launder that money by selling it at half its value and offering the victims real currencies until the suspects gained their trust, and after enacting on the fraud suddenly disappeared from sight.
