With the implementation of the ‘Early Inquiry’ application in Kuwait new fees will be imposed on travelers leaving the country through the Kuwait International Airport.
Sources told Al-Rai the fees will be included in the cost of the air tickets according to a mechanism that will be determined by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The average total value of the two additional fees that the traveler will be charged is between $3.5 and 4 dollars.
The sources stated the DGCA has requested approval from the regulatory authorities to a contract for the early inquiry system and register passengers with a company for a period of 7 years, including the collection of airport services fees (0.80 US dollars) for each passenger departing from the Kuwait International Airport, 0.48 of which are for the company and 0.32 for the DGCA, and the collection of border services fees of one dinar or its equivalent in US dollars, 550 fils will be allocated to the company for the first 8 million passengers annually, and 450 fils for civil aviation.”
