The Ministry of Health announced 619 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 89,582 while 4 deaths were reported raising the number fatalities to 544.
Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad gave the breakdown of cases according to areas as followed: 182 in Hawally, 128 in Ahmadi, 128 in the Capital, 108 in Farwaniya, and 73 in Jahra. Al-Sanad said 94 people were in the intensive care units. He added the number of people receiving treatment was 8,517.
Al-Sanad said health care workers conducted 3,093 swab tests in the past 24 hours to increase tests since the outbreak to 643,727. Al-Sanad called on the public anew to remain vigilant and to abide by physical distancing and hygiene rules. The MoH announced earlier in the day recovery of 618 people from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours to reach a total of 80,521.
