MEED magazine said Kuwait is preparing to float new bids for three packages in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port.

The Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources said, invitations have been sent to companies to attend the meeting next Tuesday, and the deadline for submitting bids is August 27.

The new tenders are for the first phase packages 3A and 3E and the operation and maintenance of the cathodic protection system for the quay wall and buoys at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port.

According to official sources, the cost of the project ranges between $990 million and $1.32 billion, and the scope of work includes the construction of protective walls, buildings, roads and other facilities.

The scope of work included the design of major buildings, roads, utility services, container yard and handling equipment.

The qualified consultants are Spain’s Ineco, US-based Louis Berger, Australia’s Smec, Spain’s Typsa and US-based Aecom.
