The Abdali security authorities have arrested a gang of Nepali bootleggers after raiding their alcohol factory in Subbiya, Al-Rai daily reported.

The arrest came after a police patrol on routine duty spotted a group of suspicious men, and after checking their IDs, the security discovered they were menial workers and most of them did not carry IDs.

The police then entered their residence to check the IDs of other men living in the house and were shocked to see 140 large barrels of raw material and liquor manufacturing equipment.

The bootleggers have been arrested and the contraband has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control (GDDAC).
