In the last six months, a total of 196 private medical facilities were inspected by the medical licenses department of the health ministry to ensure their business license and the licenses of their staff were valid.

Revealing this, the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Medical Services Affairs, Dr. Fatima Al-Najjar explained that among the 196 facilities investigated, 94 were polyclinics, 65 were medical centers and 30 were specialized clinics, while 7 were hospitals.

The assistant undersecretary was speaking on the sidelines of the 24th Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference that she inaugurated on behalf of Minister Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah.

In her opening remarks to the conference, Dr. Al-Najjar noted that the conference provides the opportunity to learn about the latest international developments in obstetrical and gynecological diseases, treatments, diagnoses and preventive early detection tests.

Head of Adan Hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department and the head of the conference Dr. Abeer Al-Thayedi announced a new project to renovate the out-patients section of obstetrics and gynecology departments, as well as the obstetrics and gynecology casualty department. She added that the conference will help exchange expertise with at least nine specialist experts from the UK, US, Denmark, Italy and India.
