The National Bank of Kuwait is actively participating in raising awareness and promoting financial culture among all segments of society. The bank continues to support the “Let’s Be Aware” banking awareness campaign launched in cooperation with local banks and the Federation of Kuwait Banks. As part of this campaign, Al Qabas wrote that NBK launched a campaign to warn against suspicious emails. Phishing emails are sent from suspicious websites using the logo of well-known institutions such as banks, telecommunications companies, or major companies, making it difficult for users to distinguish between real and suspicious emails.

Furthermore, fraudulent emails are often poorly written and contain grammatical errors. The bank advises customers to never share their personal or financial information, such as ATM or credit card numbers, with anyone. In addition, customers are advised to log out of the bank’s website or app immediately after completing a transaction.

NBK is intensifying its awareness campaigns of fraudulent schemes and how to avoid them, adding that it is publishing educational materials through all communication platforms, as well as all the bank’s electronic channels, including video clips, text messages, and advisories. The bank stresses that it will not ask for personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls, while urging customers to not respond to messages that represent fraudulent attempts aimed at obtaining their banking information in order to steal their money or data.
