The Public Authority for Anti-Corruption, known as Nazaha, has taken decisive action against corruption within the municipality.

In line with its mandate and the law, Nazaha referred former senior officials and supervisors to the Public Prosecution based on suspicions of facilitating the misappropriation of public funds, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This move is part of Nazaha’s ongoing commitment to combat corruption and prevent its harmful impact. The authority has been diligently investigating and gathering evidence to ensure that those involved in corrupt practices are held accountable for their actions.

After a thorough examination, the individuals in question have been found to have committed two offenses: facilitating the appropriation of public funds and unintentional damage to public money. These crimes are in violation of specific provisions outlined in the Public Funds Protection Law No. 1 of 1993 and the Law No. 2 of 2016, which established the Public Authority for Anti-Corruption.

Nazaha emphasizes its dedication to continue conducting thorough examinations and investigations, actively seeking serious information that meets its criteria.

The authority acknowledges the essential role of whistleblowers in exposing corruption, and it assures them of the highest levels of protection and confidentiality as required by the law and executive regulations.

By taking these actions, Nazaha reaffirms its commitment to eradicating corruption and promoting transparency and accountability within the public sector.
