National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim opened the special session today, devoted to discussing government procedures and policy in dealing with the emerging coronavirus and its mutated strains, Al Qabas reported

During the special session, Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, expressed his concerns. He said that the responsibilities of medical personnel have doubled during the pandemic, the virus is infecting more people, there is an increase in the number of infected patients. He said that the health measures implemented from January 27 to stoping the entry visas were necessary otherwise Kuwait may need to implement drastic measures. He appealed for everyone’s cooperation.

The minister pointed out that Kuwait has received the vaccines a few days after the United States and Canada and before the countries of Europe. He also said that 454522 citizens and expatriates have registered to take anti-Corona vaccinations,  and 137 000 have received the vaccine, including 119, 000 citizens, and those who received the second dose 38,000.
