The Kuwait Municipality said the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department of the Farwaniya Municipality branch has cut off power supply to 32 violating residential properties in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in the suburb of Omariya and Rabieh.

Director of the Audit and Engineering Follow-up Department, Saeed Al-Azmi, said in a press statement the owners had rented outhouses of their homes to bachelors in the private housing areas which caused great inconvenience to citizens and residents of the neighboring houses, reports a local Arabic daily.

Head of the Engineering Violations Follow-up Department, Khaled Al-Osaimi, said the field tours will continue to monitor all the violations and take legal action before finally cutting off power supply in cooperation with the concerned authorities to limit the spread of the phenomenon of singles housing in private and model housing areas.

Giving details he said power was cut off from 14 homes in the Al-Rabiya and 18 from the Omariya area, pointing out that all legal measures were taken before the power was cut off by issuing warnings to evict bachelors from those plots.
