Director-General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, said the Municipality will have soon fully reviewed the fourth structural plan for the state before submitting it to the Council of Ministers next month.

Al-Manfouhi told a local Arabic daily on the sidelines of the Municipal Council session that the Municipality has asked the Civil Service Commission for a special cadre for national employment in the surveying and planning sector and that some financial incentives should be given to them, stressing commitment to the decision to Kuwaitize the sector after doing away with all foreign consultants.

Meanwhile, Al-Manfouhi revealed the Municipality will make use of the services of the private sector to provide services related to the vehicles towed to the reservation sites if the municipality, whether in terms of collecting fines or payment of other charges.

He explained the Municipality is now in the stage floating the tender for this service, pointing out that this bid “will generate money for the state.”

He stated the Municipality has been losing many cases due to impounding cars, so the private sector will be used to provide these services — to pay fines on behalf of the violators and deliver the vehicles to their homes
