Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shula speaking at the opening of the first conference of the Municipal Council.

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shula said on Tuesday that the biggest challenge facing the municipal council is to contribute in realizing Kuwait’s vision 2035 and making the country attractive for investment to be a financial and commercial center.

This came in a speech by the Minister during the opening of the first conference of the Municipal Council under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak Al-Sabah.

He stressed that the state’s interest in this conference is evidence of the firm belief in the vital role played by the municipal council in the field of development in the State of Kuwait.
He said that the conference is the first of its kind for the council, which includes many young national talents who “are eager to serve our dear country and contribute to its advancement and raise its banner.”

He said that everyone knows the importance of the role of the Council since the beginning of this period of Kuwait’s modern history, as well as being the starting point for Kuwaiti democracy for decades.

He said that the Municipal Council also participated in the development process and in enhancing the process of participation in the formulation of policies and the development of plans and reporting of projects in all matters related to the functions of municipality’s urban, environmental, health and other activities.
