The municipality approved the request of the Tourism Enterprises Company to develop the Ras Al-Ard Club, which covers an area of approximately 35,265 square meters, to avoid overlapping with the adjacent Ministry of Defense site, a local daily reported.

In a letter sent to the Municipal Council, it was also stated that the area of the club totals 33,858 square meters after the coordinates are modified, provided that the building proportions, areas and uses are determined as, firstly, the building percentage (building concentration ratio) is 30% of the total site area, which is equivalent to an area of approximately 10157 square meters. Secondly, the percentage of commercial use of 5% is calculated from the total area of the plot, and is equivalent to an area of 1692 square meters, which consists of retail shops, restaurants, and cafes only.

Moreover, the municipality stipulated that it should be authorized to move and modify the dimensions of the site and its area should not exceed the areas determined for the site in the event that it conflicts with any existing infrastructure services, or any regulatory reasons, during installation. In addition, adherence to the articles of the state property contract should be concluded with the Ministry of Finance, while applying its provisions.
