Due to the high expenses associated with marine marinas in Kuwait, with annual costs ranging from 600 to 2000 dinars per berth, Fahd Al-Abdul Jader, a member of the Municipal Council, has proposed the establishment of surface and multi-storey boat parking facilities in various locations.
In his proposal, Al-Abdul-Jader emphasized that Kuwait is renowned for its interest in boats and is considered an important hub for boat manufacturing, reports Al-Rai daily.
Statistics reveal that 40 percent of boat sales in the Middle East come from Kuwait, indicating a significant demand for boats in the country.
Consequently, the rising number of boat owners each year has led to numerous complaints from citizens about boats being parked randomly in residential areas, causing traffic congestion and disputes among neighbors.
“The primary challenge faced by boat owners and dealers is the lack of suitable berths or parking areas near the beaches to accommodate the growing number of boats,” Al-Abdul Jader added.
