The Municipal Council, under the leadership of Abdullah Al-Mahri, has approved a project in its main session on Monday. The project aims to enhance and develop the Mubarakiya markets, including its parking lots and adjacent commercial areas. In addition, the municipal park will also undergo improvements as part of this development project, Alrai Media reported.

The Council has approved a draft amendment to the Regulations of Cleanliness and Waste Transportation, which allowed for greater flexibility in introducing future articles. The officials emphasized that the new regulation marks the beginning of a new era in municipal waste management and public hygiene. The vision and objectives of the regulation were formulated collaboratively by all committee members and the technical team, signifying a unified effort towards effective implementation.

Moreover, the Council has also given its approval for the advisory agreement, which entails carrying out a comprehensive study, designing and preparing contractual documents, as well as overseeing the implementation and maintenance of rainwater drainage systems across the northern, southern, and western urban areas. The request of the Ministry of Finance to transfer the allocation of the Fintas Entertainment Service Center in Al-Aqila area, plot 5, from Kuwait Municipality to the Ministry of Finance for in-kind payment of the deficit of the Public Institution for Social Insurance has been approved.

In addition, the Council has given its approval to allocate, install, and transfer a main electricity substation in the South Ali Sabah Al-Salem region, as requested. It has also approved the Ministry of Electricity and Water’s request to transfer a substation located in Abu Fatira in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate.
