The Ministry of Public Works has requested the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) to postpone the closing date of the tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of the third package for aircraft hangars and runways and service buildings for the new passenger building at the Kuwait International Airport (Terminal No. 2) to October 24.
Well-informed sources in the Ministry told Al-Rai CAPT is expected to agree to the ministry’s request.
This is the eleventh time the ministry has asked for the postponement but is expected to be the last time the extension is given to submit tenders to this vital project. It is reported that this is the 11th time the Ministry has asked for a postponement
The sources indicated 13 companies are competing to win the tender. The contract covers many components, including the construction of runways, aircraft hangars, sidewalks and tunnels, lighting, special systems, and a technical support center, in addition to the Airport Catering and Services Building.
