As part of initiatives targeting violators of the residence and labor laws violators and crackdown on undocumented workers, a security source said over a thousand expatriates have been arrested between January 1 and 5 this year.

According to a security source, most of the people who have been arrested are now awaiting deportation.

In a separate development, the General Traffic Department said scores of motorists have been arrested either for violating the GTD rules and regulations and juveniles for driving without license.

The Interior Ministry source said the GTD is adopting a zero-tolerance policy in the best interests of those living on this good soil.
