Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced that it has decided to start receiving requests for permits to allow holders to travel outside during the partial curfew period, from government agencies and establishments as well as the private sector companies approved by the Ministry of Commerce that require them due to the nature of their work, Al Rai daily reported. These institutions require permits as their employees involved in the field are necessary for the workplace during the curfew period.

The work includes the field of food and consumer goods distribution, in addition to maintenance and guarding, and those that have a role in continuously providing basic services and resources in the country, noting that approval is subject to audit procedures by the Ministry of the Interior.

This measure was taken due to the exceptional circumstances the country is going through, and the rising coronavirus cases which prompted the Cabinet to impose a partial curfew in the country. It is also within the framework of the efforts and procedures undertaken by the security establishment in cooperation and coordination with the concerned government agencies.

The administration stated that providing permits is the responsibility of MoI, whether for government agencies or the private sector. To obtain permits, the requester has to send the application for a permit for individuals and vehicles with an (Excel) file, while providing factual and correct details

The General Administration of Relations and Security Media calls on the citizens and expats to abide by the decisions of the Council of Ministers regarding the partial curfew in the country to avoid suffering penalties.
