Drivers using the Sheikh Jaber Causeway will be monitored throughout their trip and any traffic rule violators will be dealt with severely, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a press release.

The statement came following a recent visit to the Causeway by the Acting Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, and the Director General of Rescue Police Major General Abdulaziz Al-Hajri, along with a number of senior officers.

During the visit, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf all inspected the patrols and surveillance cameras for monitoring traffic movement on the causeway, as well as the control room linked to the surveillance cameras. He praised the efforts exerted by security-men to ensure the safety of those driving on the causeway.

Following the inspection tour, the acting undersecretary issued a directive to protect Kuwait Bay and to deal firmly with those committing violations, such as dumping garbage into the bay, or driving recklessly along the causeway.
