Ministry of Interior has denied what has been attributed to the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled on the issue of Souk Sharq and some measures that have been taken saying, he “did not make any statement at all.”
The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the ministry said in a press statement that it is an explanation of the role of the ministry in such a situation, which is to provide the necessary assistance to the concerned government agencies in implementing laws and regulations, according to what was stated in the decree establishing the Ministry of Interior issued in 1979, on the occasion of the issuance of the decision of the Ministry of Finance (Assistant Undersecretary for Affairs State Property and Legal Affairs) No. 2 of 2023 regarding the evacuation of the Waterfront Project – Phase Three, after the Ministry of Interior was asked by the Ministry of Finance to provide assistance for its implementation according to its letter dated 3/2/2023 reports Al-Jarida daily.
