The Ministry of the Interior is preparing for a wide reshuffle of senior positions including assistant undersecretaries, general managers and their assistants, in addition to doing away with some senior positions and referring others to retirement.
Informed sources told Al-Rai that “the work is in the final stages, and that this process comes within the framework decisions issued by the Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lieutenant-General Faisal Al-Nawaf to inject new and young blood into the ministry to keep pace with current developments.”
The sources indicated there is a plan to modify and reduce the ministry’s structure through what it called (muzzling) of some sectors and merging others to raise the level of administrative performance on the one hand and reduce expenditure on the other hand.
