The Ministry of Interior (MoI) stated that in 2020 the traffic sector issued 257,636 tickets to drivers who passed red lights, 64,090 for not wearing seat belts, 29,062 for using a mobile phone while driving, 6855 tickets for reckless driving, and 57,881 for setting up glass shading for their cars, in violation of the law, Al Anba reported.
MoI confirmed that the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector is continuously organizing many traffic campaigns across all governorates to monitor drivers, and to deal immediately with violators who break the law and refer the perpetrators to the competent authorities.
