The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi has issued a decision regarding the direct employment of non Kuwaiti doctors who have Kuwaiti mothers, as this falls within the framework of providing medical benefits and better quality of medical services.

A local Arabic daily reports, that the articles in the decision have specified the requirements to be appointed as a doctor, with the first article stipulating that a non-Kuwaiti person with a Kuwaiti mother should obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and after completing one year successfully the respective candidate would be transferred to the position of a registered assistant.

The second article of the decision specified that the requirements for occupying the position of a “dentist” for a non-Kuwaiti whose mother is Kuwaiti, the candidate must obtain a Bachelors of Medicine in Oral and Dental Surgery, and he will then be transferred to the position of a registered assistant after spending one year in his job successfully.

The third article also refers to the financial benefits of the aforementioned doctors. Articles 1 and 2 include granting them the basic salary, incentives, financial reward, housing allowance, cost-of-living allowance, etc.
